Spice Girl, Mel B’s Domestic Violence Trial may not be closed to the public

October is Domestic Violence Awareness month. Although Mel B filed for (and was granted) a temporary restraining order, there is an upcoming trial for a permanent injunction. Victims in our criminal justice system must relive their abuse in an open courtroom.The Judge in the case cannot completely close the Los Angeles County courtroom during the trial. However, the courtroom may be closed during “sensitive moments”.
